All-on-4® Treatment Concept
Every patient has unique dental care needs, and not all treatments are suitable for every case. Your dentist will conduct a thorough examination of dental health before recommending the ideal treatment for you, and it may not be what you expect, but it will be in your best interest, especially when it comes to dental implants.
Dental implants are a necessity, but they are also an invasive surgical procedure that can damage the jaw's integrity. Depending upon the extent and type of damage done, your dentist may prescribe tooth implants, dental bridges, or an All-on-4® treatment.
At Serenity Dental, we ensure our patients get the highest quality of care possible. Our goal is to provide a patient-centered approach, and thus, we provide a multitude of services, including the All-on-4® treatment, to cater to every individual's needs.
What is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept
The all-on-4® or the full-arched fixed dental implants are ideal for patients who are about to become edentulous. They are full jaw bridges supported by four implants: two towards the front or middle and two placed at a 45-degree angle toward the back end.
They are a permanent solution for missing a full set of teeth and are a more functional and reliable alternative to dentures. Where dentures have to be removed and cleaned every night, the full-arched fixed dental implants function like normal teeth and require the same care. It is a graft less procedure, allowing patients to benefit from a fully functional jaw by the end of the surgery.
For some patients, the dentist may include six dental implants for additional stability and prevent the jaw bone's deterioration in the long-run. However, as mentioned earlier, each patient is different, and for you to be eligible for an All-on-four treatment, you have to meet certain eligibility criteria to avoid facing problems later on.
Common Problems of All-on-4 Treatment
As mentioned earlier, not all patients are eligible for the All-on-4® treatment concept, though many requests for it. The dentist will ensure the jaw is strong enough and the gums healthy enough to support the complete arched dental bridge supported by implants. They will also take into account ones biting and chewing habits. A patient who bites and chews aggressively or grinds their teeth too often can damage the implants.
We at Serenity Dental ensure, we cater to every patient's unique needs and provide them the most cost-effective and functional solutions for long-term benefits.
