CEREC® Primescan / Primemill – Same Day Crowns
We now offer same-day crowns which, as the name implies, are made in our office and fitted on your tooth all in one visit! Same-day crowns are made possible thanks to computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).
The process for receiving a same-day crown is very similar to the process for receiving a traditional crown but it is crafted in our office as soon as we take the impression of your tooth. The method for taking an impression of your teeth is different, in that instead of taking a putty mold of your tooth, we take a digital impression of it. This is accomplished by dusting your tooth with a reflective powder and scanning it with a handheld wand. Using this method we get an accurate 3D model of your tooth which we use to construct the same-day crown.
The construction of a same-day crown is done in our office. It is done by a CEREC® machine that uses the 3D image of your tooth to carve a piece of ceramic material into the exact shape of your tooth. The color of the crown is closely matched to your surrounding teeth and is finished by staining and glazing it to ensure a great aesthetic and functional fit. The function and lifetime of traditional and same-day crowns are exactly the same. This means that the only trade-off you make when you receive a same-day crown as opposed to a traditional crown is not having to come back to our office!

Implant Placement Using The X-Guide
The X-Guide works in unison with cone beam 3D imagery to give us a live video overlay not only of your jaw, bone, and teeth but our drilling tools in relation to them. The X-Guide shows us the exact angle, depth, and placement of every action we take in your mouth in real time. This gives us the ability to precisely control the placement of every implant procedure we perform.
Implant placement outcomes are better with the X-Guide, giving us a higher implant success rate, and happier patients. Even the recovery process can potentially benefit from the X-Guide system. Patients who have implants placed using the X-Guide system may in some cases achieve faster and smoother recovery results than those who have no surgical guide.
Invisalign® Aligners and Adult Orthodontics
For years, orthodontists and dentists have used removable appliances for limited treatment. Today, with the application of computer technology and custom manufacturing, Invisalign® treats a broader range of cases with greater precision.
Invisalign® uses 3D computer imaging technology to depict the complete treatment plan, from the initial position to the final desired position, from which a series of custom-made clear "aligners" are produced. Each "aligner" moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then is replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved.
A dental x-ray is an essential diagnostic tool for any oral surgeon. In the past, x-rays required film slides, complete with a long and tedious development process. These days, we use digital x-rays due to their numerous advantages over traditional methods.
Intraoral x-rays are the most common type of dental radiograph. To conduct a digital intraoral x-ray, a small electronic sensor is placed in the mouth. The sensor allows us to capture images of your teeth, roots, and supportive bone without the use of film slides. The position of the electronic sensor is dictated by the type of intraoral x-ray you need.
Digital x-rays omit up to 90% less radiation than a film x-ray. They also allow us to magnify or manipulate the image to gain a more comprehensive overview of your oral structures. Without the film development process, we can retake an x-ray instantly and share them electronically, all without affecting the environment.
